sorry, i was in the library and i will tell a true story and not exaggerate. in this case i dont have to.
the girl to my left with the big engagement ring and designer sweats called someone to tell them “the most awkward story ever…” (her words not mine)
an elderly lady from her home ward was trying to get her reception information so that she could drop off a wedding gift
and had the audacity to write her 2 emails, since she had nt been included on the invite list
so naturally this girl sends an email to respond saying “MY gosh, youve already asked me, were not even doing a reception around you…”
very proud of teaching that old lady a lesson about manners
seriously, i am not making this up
so i took the time to look at her with my “Are you serious face?” I mean, its the no shh zone, not the tell everyone youre a jackass zone.
The best part up to this point is when she announced she was from California, and i had no problem believing it.
Anyways, I thought, well, Im never getting married
and then
her conversation kept going
remember, were in a full library
and she, whoever she is talking to, starts talking about the tricks she has been practicing to make sure her soon to be husband lasts longer then ten seconds on their wedding night
so i start staring at her in the most obvious way, with my “WHAT ARE YOU DOING” face
and she doesnt notice or pay attention
so we get to the part of her conversation where she is using euphamisms to describe what pressure in which places
when we got to the word PLAY
and i do the only thing i can think to do reasonably
use the gifts that God gave me to stop listening to the gifts that God gave her
my voice
I call Robbie, and have a unnecessarily loud conversation (by my standards mind you) facing her
so it gets projected into her mouth piece
my reasoning was simple, make her have to out shout me in order to tell her story on all the things she is learning
it worked amazingly, she had a small filter after all
i wish i had a light up banner on my head that i could write messages in and then the person that needed societal education by ostracizing and shunning and criticism could receive it from me
and i hate that I learned something new today from her
Should I put this on the overheard at BYU page?
